In regards to http://forum.cdburnerxp.se/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6437
I can second that the high-speed burning problem is still not fixed, even in version 4.3.7.2356 on Windows 7, Enterprise Edition, 64bit.
The drives we usually have are Samsung drives, recognized as “TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-223C ATA Device” or “TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-223B ATA Device” (models vary depending on the time of purchase). The installed firmware version doesn’t make a difference, neither does the drive configuration in the BIOS (AHCI, Legacy (IDE) etc.)
When burning an ISO image, the speed can be chosen but when doing a disk copy the speed is always at its fullest and most of the time, the burning fails because the discs can’t cope or whatever.
We’ve had this problem on several managed workstations at my workplace where we were trying to push CDBurnerXP as alternative to the bloatware Nero.
It’d be great if this was fixed sooner rather than later…
Also, the forum does not allow me to post the above text as it thinks it’s spam… *blurgh*
